Conductivity sensors of the 202923 series are used, for example, in general water treatment, cooling and air conditioning system technology, drinking and bath water sectors, or in industrial rinsing and process water circuits. The PVC body material limits the use to medium temperatures of 55 °C. Two variants with cell constants K=0.1 or 1.0 are available.
As installation variants, versions with the widely used thread sizes G3/4" or G1", or a push-in variant are available. The push-in version, for example, is used with the matching PVC T-pieces in the nominal sizes DN25, 32, and 40. This version allows quick dismounting of the sensor for cleaning and maintenance purposes. The electrical connection occurs either by a detachable connector plug or a permanent cable connection.
The overall design and the components coming into contact with the medium are physiologically harmless. The electrode material are stainless steel (K=0.1) or special graphite (K=1.0). The temperature probe (which can be integrated if desired) permits simultaneous detection of the medium temperature for temperature compensation in downstream measuring amplifiers.
Stainless steel variant K=0.1:
The sensor has 3 metal pin electrodes. The two outer pins are electrically connected and form one pole of the two-electrode sensor. The center stainless-steel pin is the counter-electrode. This structure enables a very high measuring accuracy with low stray fields. A temperature probe can be integrated in the center pin.
Graphite variant K=1.0:
For physical reasons, special graphite is used as electrode material for higher conductances. The two graphite electrodes are completely integrated in the electrode shaft. The optional temperature probe is located in a stainless steel sleeve that is immersed in the measurement medium.
